What makes our oil special?
Gourmet Quality Flavour
Our own Direct Micro Expelling (DME™) process takes less than an hour to turn selected mature coconuts into delicious hand-pressed Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. This Australian technology is the quickest process in the world and along with our strict quality controls locks in all the flavour and goodness.
For quality assurance Kokonut Pacific, the inventors of the Direct
Micro Expelling process, also set the
DME Standard for your protection
and the empowering and advancement of the islanders we work with. Furthermore, the DME process extracts coconut oil without the use of any chemicals and as such it is Hexane-free.
Certified Organic Confidence Our whole operation, from traditional tall palms to final packaging, is inspected and Certified Organic by Australia’s leading certifier,
NASAA.
Without a Certification Number a product is not Certified
Organic, so check all labels carefully. (Our Certification No is 2611P). As well as being free of chemical pesticides and
fertilizers etc, one of the major protections for you is that to qualify for
organic certification the entire production path must remain traceable. This
means that the product can be traced from the store right back to the farm
where it was produced. (Unfortunately there are vendors making organic certification claims on their labels but without even indicating a country of origin.)
Fair Dinkum Fair Trade We are passionate about using DME™ partnerships for Fair Trade.
Our operation provides rural people with meaningful employment, a regular income and better living standards. Your purchase of this premium oil brings direct benefits to our
island neighbours in the Pacific by creating a better livelihood and helping to protect the environment. Our coconut oil is sourced primarily from our projects in the Solomon Islands.
Now more than ever they need our ongoing support as they attempt to rebuild their economy. You can also help us in this work by encouraging your local health food store to stock and
promote our Niulife Extra Virgin Coconut Oil.
Melting solidified oil
You can melt solidified oil by placing the container in a sink filled with hot water, making sure the lid is tight and no water mixes with the oil. Then decant into a wide mouthed jar.
You can either melt all the oil and fill several jars or use one jar and keep refilling it. Be sure to use dry jars as any water droplets can severely effect the shelf life of the oil.
Another practical method for melting is to use solar power – ie leave the container in a car parked out in the sun or find a warm sunny spot at home (next to the cat?!)
Alternately just leave it in a warm sunny spot.
If you only plan to fill one jar at a time you do not need to fully melt the oil
but be careful that the remaining solid mass doesn't slide from the top of the container and cause a rush of oil as you pour it.
