...just three years ago I was a very sick boy and my breathing became so bad that I could not even run 100m. The doctors had me on asthma medication and told me that I didn’t have the lung capacity to ever be an endurance athlete. Eventually they said I had Local Cord Dyspraxia. Many tropical coastal communities are the custodians of unique endangered cultures, languages, reefs and rain forests. The coconut is their most sustainable agricultural resource. DME provides rural people with meaningful employment, a regular income and better living standards.
The Tree of Life
The coconut palm is called the Tree of Life because it meets so many basic human needs — food, fuel and shelter. This palm produces nuts every month of the year. The main export crop is copra, the dried white flesh of the nut. It takes months for this raw material to reach the industrial processing plants in Europe or Asia. By then the copra is very dirty and rancid so that when the oil is extracted it must be chemically refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD). Managing Virgin Coconut Oil
DME Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is a clear or slightly cloudy liquid at temperatures above 26°C. As it cools it forms white 'pearls' and starts to solidify. Below 22°C it is a snow white solid. Depending upon the rate of cooling, sometimes it will retain the pearl effect when solid. This is normal. If the oil is solid, place the container in warm water to melt it or simply scoop it out. No need to refrigerate. Many of our internet customers buy in bulk (5-20litres) and decant the oil into a smaller jar for everyday use, making it more cost effective.
Sediment
Natural unrefined virgin coconut oil may contain fine coconut sediment that can settle out over time at the bottom of the jar. This is normal for this pure and natural product in its natural state.
